Changes in the login flow of the EasyControl
Since we want to make things as easy as possible, in case you get an new phone or want to connect to other services, we have started introducing a new login procedure to the Bosch EasyControl app. This is done by updating the way the app logs into your thermostat(s). Instead of retrieving your device credentials (locally) from your phone, we will retrieve the credentials using your Bosch-ID.
You will be asked to login to your Bosch ID and pair your EasyControl, so that next time you can access your EasyControl using just your Bosch ID.
- When you log in the app using your Bosch-ID account, all stored devices will be shown and you are able to connect to them without re-entering your credentials
- You are able to connect multiple thermostats to one Bosch-ID
- Connecting to external services (availability depending on your country) like Amazon Alexa, .tiarda (our chatbot) and the Bosch HomeCom Pro becomes easier with one uniform login that uses your Bosch-ID
- Improved speed and bug fixes when logging in to the app
- A uniform login saves us time in maintenance of multiple services and give us more time to spend on improving our products
- We want to keep our solutions as safe and secure as possible, with this change we are ensuring that we keep our, and your, information as safe and secure as possible
- To keep our solutions “state of art” we need to make some changes and updates to our infrastructure, with this update we have the opportunity to do so
We will slowly start introducing the new log-in procedure for our Bosch EasyControl customers. It will take several weeks before all existing customers are migrated. It could therefore happen that one family member is migrated and the other is not. This is no problem, just can sit back and relax until you receive a notification in the app you can start using the new log-in too.
The app will guide you through all the steps. A detailed explanation of the steps you need to take can also be found here (PDF 0.4 MB)
In short you will go through the following steps:
1) Log in with your personal Bosch-ID or create a new account
2) Provide or check your thermostat credentials and password (pre-filled already for existing users in most cases)
3) Select the thermostat you want to log in to
New customers will not notice any change, they will use the new login from the start.
If you already want to connect your thermostat to your Bosch ID, in preparation for the new procedure, you can go to our pairing page.
FAQ
New login procedure
You will need to reset your password, you can request a new password on the BoschID page by clicking "Forgot password" below the login button.
It is not possible to skip the update to the new login procedure, it is mandatory for all users.
You already created a Bosch-ID the first time you used the app. Using the BoschID will be the only way to login to the app and use your thermostat.
The migration/update that took place previously was related to a change inside your Bosch-ID, the latest update is however specifically for the EasyControl app.
It is not required to create multiple Bosch-IDs, you can share one Bosch-ID with the whole family. Once the a device is linked, it will show up in the app automatically when signing in with your Bosch-ID. You can however also link your device to multiple Bosch-IDs should you prefer.
You need to create a personal Bosch-ID and follow the steps in the app to link your thermostat to your Bosch-ID. On the BoschID page click on "Not registered yet?" below the login button to start the account creation process.
If you keep having issues with adding your thermostat to your BoschID using the app, you can try to check the My Devices page.
On this page, check if the thermostat is paired correctly and to verify if the device shows as ‘online’. If the device does not show as online, please delete the device and add it again.
If another user of your household is still able to login to the thermostat using the app, they can change the password (all users will need to update the password afterwards however). If this does not work, please reset the thermostat. You can reset the EasyControl by swiping left to the second to last screen on the thermostat and pressing on the trashcan icon. Here you can choose to do a settings reset or a full factory reset. Note that all settings will be lost after a reset.
